Welcome to our FAQ page! We’re here to make your grocery delivery experience easy, transparent, and reliable. Below are answers to common questions about how Green Basket works.


🛒 Why is there a $25 hold for extras?

We place a $25 “Estimated Hold for Extras” on your card when your order is submitted. This is not a charge—just a temporary hold.

Why we do this:
Sometimes customers request to add items after submitting their order—maybe you forgot the milk or saw something in the weekly flyer. Because we use a custom checkout and don’t mark up product prices, we can’t charge your card again once payment is authorized.

The $25 buffer gives us room to include any last-minute additions you request. If you don’t add anything extra, you won’t be charged this amount—we’ll only capture the actual total from your final grocery receipt.


💳 When is my card charged?

Your card is pre-authorized when you place the order but not charged until after shopping is complete. Once we finish shopping, we’ll send you a final receipt and capture only the exact total for your groceries and fees.


📝 Can I change or add to my order after placing it?

Yes! If you forgot something or see a great deal you'd like us to grab, just reach out. As long as we haven’t finished shopping yet, we’re happy to make updates. The $25 hold covers any extras you ask for.


📦 Do you mark up grocery prices?

Never. We charge the same prices you’d pay in-store. You’ll always receive a copy of the actual receipt, and we believe in full transparency.


🚚 How does delivery work?

Once your order is shopped and ready, we’ll notify your driver and deliver straight to your door. If you’re on vacation or arriving later, let us know—we’ll do our best to accommodate your timing.


🧱 What is considered a heavy item?

Certain grocery items are classified as heavy due to their weight or bulk, which requires extra care when shopping and delivering. Examples of heavy items include:

  • Gallons of water or milk
  • 12-packs (or larger) of soda
  • Large bags of pet food
  • Bulk cases of beverages
  • Oversized laundry detergent or similar items

We calculate a Heavy Item Handling Fee based on how many heavy items are in your order:

  • 0–3 items – No additional fee
  • 4–6 items – $5 handling fee
  • 7+ items – $10 handling fee

This fee helps cover the added time and physical effort involved in transporting heavier loads safely to your door. Thank you for understanding!
